Belamcanda chinensis ( Blackberry Lily )
A rhizomatous perennial, reaching up to 4 ( rarely over 2.5 ) feet in height, that is native to open woodlands and grasslands in Asia ( from eastern Siberia; south to northern India to China and Japan ). It has naturalized in parts of North America.
The narrowly lance-shaped leaves are up to 24 x 1.6 inches in size. The foliage is blue-green.
The orange flowers, up to 2 inches across, are borne all summer long.
They are followed by black pods during autumn.
Hardy zones 4 to 8 ( possibly 3 for seed source from Liaoning ) in full sun on moist, fertile, sandy, well drained soil. Propagation is from seed or division of clumps.

Belamcanda flava 'Hellow Yellow'
Dwarf in habit, reaching only 2.2 x 2.2 feet in size; it is native to Japan.
The bright yellow flowers, up to 1 inches wide, are borne during mid-summer.
They are followed by fruit that resemble blackberries in appearance.
Hardy zones 5 to 8 in partial shade on well drained soil. Drought tolerant but dislikes winter wetness.
